A little help is a great future!

6th and 7th days at summer camp with Hope and Future in MD!

Dear Friends, Supporters and Visitors of our web-site,

All good things and activities come to end soon… So it was with the summer camp shift organized by Hope and Future for those 170 needy and poor children from ten communities of Southern area. This time arrived unexpectedly for the children in the camp as they were caught by every activity there. They wondered when those days went on so quickly and why the days were so short.

As the other days of the camp, the 6th and 7th ones were filled with lots of fun, praises, presents, sports and delicious food of both spiritually, emotionally and physically. Hence, these days also had their names as follows The day of Twins and The day of Freckles. The children had lots of fun and were very creative in preparing the twins of their groups as during evening chapel they should participate actively there. We give force to the statement that the camp helps the children to establish their confidence by empowering them to make decisions for themselves in a safe and structured environment. On the Day of Freckles, the children had the full freedom to make decisions and win as much freckles as possible.

‘I can say only ‘It was great!’ and we spent unforgettable moments. We had so much fun participating in all activities. The Crying Queen was so pretty and we were not able in the beginning to make her laugh. We have united our efforts and finally she smiled! Oh, it was so funny!’ – shared Oxana, a camper.

‘I am so grateful for being in this camp! From my first steps on its territory I felt a warm breeze coming from the trees and a friendly attitude of those who welcomed me. The program was full of wonderful stories, laugh, sport and plenty delicious food. Hope next year I would have the chance to come back!’ – shared Oleg about his experience in the camp.

The Bible stories of these last days in the camp were inspired from The Parable of the Two Sons (Matthew 21:28-32) having the Bible key verse James 1:22 ‘But be doers of the word, and not hears only, deceiving yourselves.’ and The Parable of the Wise and Foolish Virgins with the Bible key verse from Matthew 25:13 ‘Watch, therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.’

‘Thank you for bringing these parable to us. I liked their messages. Sometimes I acted like one of those sons. I am so sorry that I do not obey my mom. She wanted only the good for me, but I discouraged her many times. I am going to go home and ask her to forgive me. Thank you for teaching me such nice things!’ – said Marin, a camper.

‘I am so happy attending this camp this summer! I learned many nice things that will help me at school and in relationship with my friends. I learned how to relate to my peers and adults. These are good teachings. I realize that I rested at camp and learned so many valuable things. I enjoyed the morning chapels, handicrafts and sport competitions. I did not have time for boredom. Thank you for giving me the possibility to attend the summer camp this year! May God bless you all!’ – expressed Natalia, a camper.

H&F celebrated children’s birthdays. It was a special moment and celebration for children. Songs, games and wishes were shared with all the children in the camp. They were treated with cake, banana, soda and a small gift. For many children it was a surprise and did not know how to react to everything happing around them as it was for the first time when someone was singing ‘Happy Birthday to you!’.

‘I was so surprised when Christian Input staff approached me and offered me a gift. That touched me to tears. It was my first birthday celebration and my first birthday present. Thank you H&F for thinking about me and other children like me.’ – shared Nicu, a camper.

‘Thank you for making us such a nice birthday celebration. I liked the cake with soda. They were delicious. May God bless you!’ – said Madalina, a camper.

The camp program finished. The children left the camp site and departed their educators and friends with sadness in their eyes and telling they would miss them very much. Some of them asked if it could be possible form them to be included in the camp list for next year.

If we all could be a true friend to a child, praying and encouraging that child, somehow that’s a first step in being part of making the world a better place. On behalf of all the children attending the Hope and Future summer camp this year, we would like to thank all our supporters for making this summer camp possible.

God bless you all!

Respectfully,
H&F team
